Chirurgia & Vacanze : Tunisia, your medical tourism destination...
| |
| |
Is there a pre-surgery consultation ? |
| Apart from the pre-surgery consultation offered by Chirurgia & Vacanze according to its charter, we recommend that you consult one or two surgeons of your choice in your country before taking a decision. |
How does post–operative care take place ? |
During your stay in Tunisia, Chirurgia & Vacanze will provide a nurse for minor post-operative care. You will be given the medicines prescribed by your surgeon after the operation. Stitches will be removed before your departure. With some operations, it is not necessary to remove stitches.
Before your departure, the surgeon will give you all the necessary information to ensure the best aesthetic result. Where necessary, your surgeon and Chirurgia & Vacanze will inform you of doctors and surgeons who are partners in your country of origin, to ensure post-operative checks or reply to your questions. Your surgeon and Chirurgia & Vacanze are always available for any requests you may have.

Where are the prostheses made ? |
| Prostheses are made in Europe: the brand is Euro Silicone. They are in anatomical silicon gel. |
Is it absolutely necessary to remain a week in Tunisia for my operation ? |
A week’s stay is essential for a good post–operative check, and a complete cure. Some operations require an even longer stay.
If I am accompanied, how much will it cost ? |
If you would like to be accompanied by a member of your family or a friend, he/she will pay for the stay in the hotel and may benefit from the same special price for an open ticket with Tunisair.
Can I have several operations at the same time ? |
If you would like to have several operations, our surgeon will confirm which are possible, and let you know how long you should stay. By having two operations at the same time, you can save up to 20% of the price.
How long in advance do I have to reserve my stay ? |
As soon as you know when you will be free, do not hesitate to book. It is better to do so as soon as possible, so that you can plan your surgery better.
Is a Visa required to travel to Tunisia ? |
| For EU citizens a valid passport is sufficient. For those from other countries, please contact the Embassy of Tunisia in the country of residence. The Embassy or the consulate will give you all the necessary information about the required documents. |
What tests are required before the operation? Are they included in the price of my operation ? |
- The required tests and analyses are included in the price of the operation (? Sotto c’e’ scritto che non sono inclusi).
• Blood group
• Haemostasis
• Urea
• Glycaemia
• Hepatitis B and C
• HIV
- For breast surgery, a mammography is necessary (this can be done in Tunisia).
- For eye surgery, an ophthalmology examination is required.
- For patients over 50, a cardiogram is required.
These preliminary tests must be made by your own doctor and are not included in the tariffs. As a first step, they are essential for us so that we can confirm that there are no medical reasons for not undergoing the operation. They will complete the medical file that will be presented to your surgeon and anaesthetist during the pre–operative examination.
